Mooring Compensators

Powerful forces come into play when wind starts to blow. And it is not only the wind that gives rise to disastrous stresses and strains. The swells resulting from passing boats, high and low tides are all factors that can cause a lot of trouble. The mooring compensators diminishes the strain of wind, waves and wake. Keeps lines from snapping and prevents cleats from pulling out. No squeaking, no wear, no tear!

With mooring compensators from Sigma you can feel completely at ease in regard to your moorings. One on each line! Our mooring compensators also ensure that your visit to other marinas and harbors will be safer and more enjoyable. The cost of these reliable mooring compensators which are dependable in all types of weather is small in relation to the money at risk if you have inadequate moorings. Sigma offers two alternatives for safe mooring; the well renowned Forsheda compensator made of high quality ozone resistant EPDM rubber and renders an absolutely safe and long-lasting mooring for all types of boats and yachts.

Mooring compensator: Made of ECO EPDM rubber and recycled carbon black, this mooring compensator diminishes the strain of wind, waves and wake. Keeps lines from snapping and prevents cleats from pulling out. It is impervious to the elements, strong sunlight, salt water and obstinate moorings. No squeaking, no wear, no tear! At Sigma, we understand that sustainable solutions are not one-size-fits-all but we are proud to be able to offer unique solutions and choices where we have the capabilities to adjust each recipe based on the needs and demands of our customers to achieve the ideal balance between performance and sustainability. The sustainable solutions that we can offer today are based on bio-based and sustainable polymers, recovered carbon black (rCB) and bio-based plasticizers.

As a first project, before reaching out to our customers, we have switched the material used for our mooring compensators to the ECO material. The new mooring compensators are made up of 100 % ECO EPDM rubber. More than 80% of the carbon black in the compound was also exchanged with recycled carbon black, giving us the mooring compensators with more than 60% conscious materials.

Testing and production of the new mooring compensators with the ECO material and marketing the more sustainable alternatives has been one of the highlights for us during 2023 with the goal of shaping a greener future, one customized solution at a time.
